lyrics

I feel like I’ve been running out of time lately
I just… I look and I try to figure where it’s all gone
Time is really like the one nonrenewable resource
You can’t… You can put atoms back together
You can build solids
You can create gases
But you can’t make more time out of nothing
I don’t know
Sometimes you just have to give up some of your own time
In order to really appreciate the existence
But lately it’s just been feeling like I’ve been running out of it faster
I look back and I think
You know back when I was a child
When I was first meeting people and talking to people
And playing in bands
And I don’t know I was just so happy back then
It’s not to say like I’m not happy now but it’s
It’s different like it’s
Not as childlike in a way
I was able to just experience it in the moment back then
Because maybe I wasn’t so focused on the time that was passed
But the time I was in and the time I was going to have
It just felt so hopeful
Just filled with all this thought of the future and potential
And felt like this was my moment, my calling
Where I had my friends around me
But you know now here I am
Twelve, thirteen years later
And I don’t even know where they are
I don’t think I’ve talked to them in at least five or six years
They’ve all grown up
All just kind of moved on
